In 2004, a friend challenged me to live out an unspoken dream. I had to do some pondering to unearth the dream that had lived unspoken within me but when it came to light, I knew it was something I had to pursue. So I have been taking classes and workshops in pastels whenever I can make the time. I have found the medium to be perfect in terms of having no brushes to clean, no wet surfaces to let dry, quick to complete and easy to change if need be. It’s been fun to explore a medium I barely touched in art school. Sometimes I wonder where I would be today as a fine artist if I had started in this medium when I was in college instead of waiting until middle age!
